Anti Freeze and Coolant
Antifreeze can be unnecessarily complicated so we have produced a guide
There are 3 different types of antifreeze –
Universal Anti-freeze – Mono Ethylene Glycol
Colour – Blue
Approved for older vehicles usually up to 2005. 2 year life for machinery or 20,000 mile life for cars. Good for going in the sprayer. Protection in a 50/50 mix to -34’
Hybrid Coolant – Silicate and Carboxylate
Colour – Red/Pink
Approved to the majority of current industry specs. Suitable for newer and older vehicles. 5 year plus life or 150,000 miles in a car. Protection at 50/50 mix to -40’. Rust and corrosion inhibitor included. This should be mixed with deionised water @£12.99/25L.
Premixed Hybrid “Qualgard” 50/50 mix Coolant. Silicate and Carboxylate
Colour – Red/Pink
Pre mixed product which is mixed with distilled water and has the same tech specs as many manufacturers own products such as “Coolgard 2”.
Each of the above are available in 5L, 25L or 205L drums.
